We are ready for action come hell or high water!

I am of course concerned for those members of the Raven team that have chosen to stay behind when Rita comes calling. But they feel they have a calling to attend to as well and will be kept safe by God's grace I'm sure. Pastor Troy is asking for food (more specifically money to purchase food at Sam's club). They need a tent to work under and meet under. Check out their website for the latest.

Who shall separate us?

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Not Rita or Katrina!
Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
Romans 8:35-37

More than conquerors (greek): Hupernikao
From huper "over and above" and nikao, "to conquer"

Need I say more?

Forests and Stacie got married!

Other news in our lives is that our friends got married (and just returned from a wonderful honeymoon in Hawaii!) They are pictured here with our dear friends Mike and Pam. Mike led them in their vows at the ceremony. It was an awesome wedding guys!

We're leaving Oct. 1 !!!

I am excited to post that we are leaving to aid in the hurricane relief effort on October 1. We will fly continental and stay 1 week returning late on the 8th. There are 7 people on our team. We all have willing hearts and hands. Horray!

Grace

We have to remember that in all we do for others it is still by grace we have been saved.
"And if by grace, then it is no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace."
romans 11:5-6

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.

For we are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
eph 2: 8-13

All that said we are going to New Orleans to help dig out and rebuild hope.

Verses for Katrina

Be serious and watchful in you prayers
and Above all things have fervent love for one another, for
"love will cover a multitude of sins"
Be hospitable to one another w/o grumbling.
As each one has recieved a gift, minister it to one another,
as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
1 Peter 4:7-10

The Beginning

Finally entering into the world of blogging like so many of my friends before me. Will be nice to have a place to reflect on my family and share pictures with others far away.
